Cause of his death was organic heart disease.3 ![]() General Notes: At the time of the 1900 census, James was a farmer in Cocke County, Tennessee. He owned his farm free of mortgage. He and Cora had been married 8 years with no children. Mary Brady, 50 and widowed was a servant. Hurnly (sp) Brady 17 was a hirling. At the time of the 1910 census, James and Cora were boarding in the household of his widowed sister Callie R. Nelson and her sons Charles Grady Nelson and William Alexander Nelson in Newport, Cocke county, Tennessee. Her husband had been William Alexander Nelson. James was shown as the owner/operator of a farm. He and Cora remained childless. The informant on his death certificate was Callie R. Nelson of Rankin, Tennessee. (Other Ancestry.com trees show her complete name as Margaret Calladonia "Callie" Rorex.) ![]() James married Cora B. Smith, daughter of Alexander Evans Smith and Amanda Clark, about 1892. (Cora B.
