His wife, Fannie Belle Duke, was his nearest relative. At the time of the 1920 census, Roma was a general farmer. He rented his home in Angleton, Brazoria County, Texas. At the time of the 1930 census, he was a general farmer in Brazoria County, Texas. He owned his home which was on a farm. The tombstone was carved with 1954 instead of 1953 shown on the death certificate.

The cause of her death was cerebral arteriosclerosis.5
