When Murlin registered for the WWI draft on 12 Sep 1918, he was an auto mechanic working for Harry L. Wingensild (unclear) in Windsor, Henry County, Missouri. His father was his nearest relative. At the time of the 1920 census, the family lived in Windsor, Henry County, Missouri, where his father was a pumper for the railroad. Murlin was a repairer working in a garage. In 1930 he was a mechanic for an auto company in Windsor. He was renting in the home of R.T. and Madge Bowen. The rent was $19 a month. Social Security had his last residence and last benefit as Blue Springs, Jackson County, Missouri.
