At the time of the 1850 census, Christian was a landlord of a hotel in Antis, Blair County, Pennsylvania. He had real estate valued at $5000. His mother was part of his household and a 25 year old physician Jacob Magundie Confer. At the time of the 1860 census, he was listed as a Mas farmer in Antis (post office Sabbath Rest). His sons Wilson and Abraham were farmers also.

Christian married Elizabeth Wilson. (Elizabeth Wilson was born about 1805 in Pennsylvania.)
