Edna Brownie Collier Head was born into eternal life on April 22, 2010 at the age of 80 surrounded by loving family members.

She was born November 12, 1929 to Hardy Ransom Collier and Willie Mason Collier in Center City, Texas. On May 23, 1948, she married Darrell Head in Goldthwaite, Texas. They lived in Center City all of their married life.

Edna helped with the family business and was a homemaker. She loved to fish, garden, quilt, and play the piano. She could play almost anything by ear and loved to play gospel music.

Edna was a dedicated member of the Center City Baptist Church. She played the piano there, was the treasurer for many years and helped with Vacation Bible School.

Edna is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Darrell Head, two daughters, Sandra Compton of Burleson, Texas, Diane Sanders of Star, Texas, and one son Darrell Wayne Head of Center City, Texas; one sister Elizabeth Hiller of Abilene, Texas; nine grandchildren Stephanie Patterson, Brandon Compton, Janae Medina, Brian Sanders, Angie Sanders, Travis Head, Renae Head, Derrick Head and Lindsey Head; twelve great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hardy and Willie Collier, three brothers and four sisters.

Services were held April 25, 2010 at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home Chapel, Goldthwaite, Texas. Dallas Huston officiated. Interment was at Center City Cemetery, Center City, Texas.

Pallbearers included Travis Head, Brian Sanders, Brandon Compton, Wesley Schmidt Jr., Derrick Head, Wayne Coffman and Robert Hunt.

Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home, Goldthwaite, Texas handled arrangements.

Social Security had her last residence as Goldthwaite, Mills County, Texas.
