Charleen Gay Shaw, 78, passed away at 6:00 am on Monday, August 30, 2010 at Brackenridge Hospital. She went peacefully in her sleep.
Charleen was born January 31, 1932 in Santa Anna, Texas to Curtis and Pauline Melton. She was one of three beautiful girls born that day, a triplet. Charleen and Orville raised German Shepherds for 10 years. Charleen enjoyed going out dancing and The Grand Ole Opry.
Charleen was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother; she will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville L. Shaw; her sons, Thomas Guinn Shaw, Michael Melton; her sister (triplet), Pauline Vay Melton; her brother, Glynn Melton; and her sister, Minnie Jane.
She is survived by her children, Mary, Kathy, Charles and Kenneth; her ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; her sibling, her brothers, Billy, Bobby; her sisters (triplet), Kathleen Fay, Jeanett.
A visitation/reception will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 South Congress Avenue. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 25, 201 at Hensley Cemetery, Irvington, Kentucky, 3
