ROBERT BLAKLEY WILL In the name of God, Amen: (Jul 1828, Leesburg, Washington County, Tennessee)
I Robert Blakley of the county of Washington and State of Tennessee being very sick and weak in bodily strength, (thanks to God) I am in perfect mind and memory and calling unto mind that it is appointed to all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and testament. That is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent Christian burial at the discretion of my executers, Nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly estate where with it has pleased God to bless me in this life I give and dispose of the same in the following manner and form.
First I give and bequeath to my son Daniel a large Bible to remain in his hands till an opportunity offers to convey it to my son Thomas which I want done if possible, and a book that is Gospel Sonnets, I will to and bequeath to my daughter Martha. And it is my will that my land and property should be put to sale by my executors and to my well beloved daughter Lydia, I will and ordain that she shall have the one half of all that remains after all my just debts that is duly authenticated is satisfied that is to say, the half price of my land and the other half is to be divided between my son Daniel and my son John and my son William and my daughter Martha Crawford and my son Thomas and I do hereby utterly disallow and revoke and disannull all and every other former testaments, wills, legacies, bequeaths and executions by me and in any wise before named willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 9th day of May in the year of one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight. Daniel Blakley, John Blakley and James Blakley appointed executors. Signed sealed published pronounced and declared by the said Robert Blakley as his last will and testament in the presence of us who in the presence of each other have here unto subscribed our Names.

The foregoing will was proven in court by the oathes of James Blakely and Nathaniel Sands two of the subscribing witnesses there to at July Sessions 1828 and Recorded. Daniel and John Blakely qualified as executors to the foregoing will.
The name Blakley was spelled two different ways in this will and it was typed using the spelling as in the original, however, the transcriber may have made the mistake.
Robert married Martha Dillon about 1770. (Martha Dillon was born on 3 Jan 1745 and died on 23 Jan 1818 in , Washington County, Tennessee.)
