Lilly was raised on a farm near Curtis, Nebraska. She met Arnold in California where they were both working. Friends set them up on a date together. She had worked there for a while as a maid in a doctor's home. During WWII she worked in an aircraft factory building B29s. (Information from her son Dwight Galen Head 2009) 1
