Betty Ellis of Comanche, Texas passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at Hillview Manor Nursing Home. She was 70 years of age.

Betty was born July 1, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio to Louis Walter Mintie and Mary Elizabeth Kayla Mintie.

She married Joe Don Ellis on June 9, 1969 at Dallas, Texas and the couple moved to Comanche in 1973. Betty was a member of the Mullin First Baptist Church. She made her living as a school nurse.

Services were held on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Bill Ellis officiated. Interment was at Democrat Cemetery, Democrat, Mills County, Texas.

Pallbearers included Bradley Logan, Chris Goodwin, Corey Cooksey, George Ellis, Ross Ellis and Bill Cooksey.

Survivors include her three daughters and spouses Mary Katherine and Bradley Logan of North Richland Hills, Texas, Joe Annette and Corey Cooksey of Grapevine, Texas, and Jennifer Leigh and Christopher Goodwin of Plano, Texas; two grandchildren Grayson Ray Cooksey of Grapevine, Texas and Alyssa Leigh Couey, Plano Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents Louis Walter and Mary Elizabeth Mintie and her husband, Joe Don Ellis.
