When Frederick registered for the WWI draft on 5 Jun 1917, he was a bank clerk for Fidelity Trust Compnay. He lived in Kansas City, Missouri. He was single. He claimed an exemption because he had put his name before the Secretary of Royal Naval Air Service in Ottawa, Canada. The card is noted that he enlisted in that service. He traveled to England from 18 Apr 1931 until 9 Aug 1931 on the Duchess of Richmond arriving in Quebec, Canada. They entered the US at Detroit. He was shown as Scotch.

He traveled to the Canal Zone, arriving from Cristobal on the Cefalu at New Orleans, Louisiana, on 24 Feb 1935. He was using a British passport.

Frederick married Dorothy Jane Price, daughter of William Wells Price and Maude McFerran. The cause of her death was leukemia after 7 month illness.
