  General Notes:

Johann George Klinger, Esq. was born in Reading Pa.; the third child of Johann Phillipp Klinger and wife Eva Beilstein. He married Elizabeth Brosious prior to 1781, as son Alexander Klinger, the first born, has a tombstone 1780 - 1874 in Cochranton, Pa., and a baptismal record in Reading. The second recorded son, George, Jr., was born 6 Sep 1787 in Pine Grove Township, which could be the area near Klinger's Church as Schuylkill County was not formed until 1811. It is the first record of Klinger's Church, although (Klinger's Church) was not founded until 1800. This leaves one to think the migration to our area was made sometime between 1780 and 1785? (Post Revolutionary Wartime.) To substantiate the time, place, and family of George Esquirer can be seen in the orphan's court proceedings at Pottsville, Pa.

George Esq. Klinger married (2) 21 June 1801, recorded at Zion'sChurch, Harrisburg, Charlotte Deibler Snyder, widow daughter of Mathias Deibler. In formation taken from Mathias Deibler Sr's. will in Harrisburg. Charlotte was born in 1773, the same year as Peter Klinger, brother of George.
