  General Notes:

In 1894, Aaron and his wife, Mary Ann a set of twins. MAE MABEL and MABEL MAE were their names. Mae was born a few minutes earlier. Mabel Mae Rehrer married Robert H. Long and they had two boys, Robert and Ralph, and one girl, Louise. Their father Robert, and Uncle Fred Long (Bob's Long brother), owned and operated the hardware store and Bottled Gas Company in Pine Grove, for many years. All the children took Rehrer, as a middle name. Ralph and Rob would go to Aunt Minnie's each week, for a visit. Heber worked at Hershey estates.The watchman there, would give them a dime, when he saw them (Thismust have been where Uncle Heber got the idea, as every time he visited us, he gave us a quarter--Notes -Alice C. Hahn).
The Harrisburg newspaper honored the twins, Mae and Mabel, around 1984, as being the oldest living twins in the state or US. Mae and Mabel suffered a heart attack and died a few days apart, not knowing that the other had died. WOW!

I understand that Aaron and Hezakiah Rehrer may have been 1st or 2nd cousins.

Aaron Rehrer living in the household of SIMON SPANCAKE and Lucy. Hisage is listed as 24 (stepson). Is Aaron Rehrer the child of LucyLeffler and a first marriage to a Rehrer.

Lincoln Colliery, near the center of Tremont township, was opened in 1869, by Levi Miller & Co. Lincoln village has a population of not quite 200, a majority of whom are Pennsylvania Dutch. Thereis a public school, open ten months in the years, and on Sundayreligious services are held, the Rev. A.J. Amthor officiating. D.J.Lewis has been for a number of years outside superintendent for the colliery. The inside foreman is T.J. Davis, a man competent in every way to fill his position. There are employed at this colliery, inside 260 men and 12 boys, and outside 57 men and 100 boys. There are 9 engines (410 horse power), 4 steam pumps, and 25 company houses. The Lykens Valley veins are worked here, and the coal mined is of a superior quality: it is used principally for domestic purposes, and commands from 25 to 50 cents a ton more than that mined in the neighborhood of Pottsville. The capacity of the breaker is about 300,000 tons a year, say 1,000 tons or 200 cars per day.

Aaron married Mary Ann Wagner on 23 Oct 1880 in Pennsylvania. (Mary Ann Wagner was born on 17 Jan 1859 in Washington Township, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania and died on 17 Mar 1923 in Pine Grove Township, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.)
