  General Notes:

Isreal and Emma lived in Lykens Township, most of their lives, but about the turn of the century, he owned Union House Hotel in Gratz. Isreal returned to his farm in Lykens Township, after he sold the hotel.

His wife Emma became Administratrix of his estate. Her original account is housed in The Gratz Historical Society. Among the various records, is an entry showing an expenditure of $84.43 to J. H. Millerfor a casket and burial. Also payment of $63.50 to W. O. Rogers for meals for the funeral.

Did Israel Daniel fight in the Civil War? There is a record of a pension sent to an Israel, who was in the Pa. Military Infantry on Ancestry.com. I am having trouble reading it. Image # 2094.
