GEORGE THOMAS PHINNEY OCT 20, 1917- MAR 17, 2009 George Phinney passed away at his home in Oakdale, on March 17, 2009. He was survived by his wife, Clara, daughter, Cynthia Jolly, sons, and daughters in law, Gene and Susan Phinney of Spokane, WA, Jeff and Virginia Phinney, of Oakdale, and preceded in death by son, Larry Phinney. He had 10 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. He was a retired carpenter, local #1235. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He will be laid to rest on March 28, 2009, at 1:00 pm at a grave site service, at Oaklawn Memorial Park, in Oakdale.www.modbee.com/obituaries

George Phinney
George Thomas Phinney, 91, died Tuesday, March 17 at his Oakdale home. He was a native of Texas and lived in Oakdale for four years. Mr.. Phinney was Navy veteran of World War II. He worked as a carpenter at Union Local #1235 for 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Clara B. Phinney of Oakdale; children, Jeff Phinney of Oakdale, Gene Phinney of Washington, Cynthia Jolly of Modesto; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his son, Larry Phinney.

Graveside inurnment service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 28 at Oaklawn Memorial Park. No visitation. Oakdale-Riverbank Memorial Chapels in charge of arrangements.
