  General Notes:

At the time of the 1860 census, the family lived in Old Lycoming, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, where his father farmed. His siblings were George, Clara Jane, Laura E., Mary C., William G., Ida and Amelia. At the time of the 1870 census, the family was settled in Grand River, De Kalb County, Missouri, where his father farmed. The new children in the household were Joseph and Minnie. All the children were born in Pennsylvania. At the time of the 1900 census, Peter was a miller of flour, in Union, Daviess County, Missouri. He owned his home free of mortgage. A servant, Nora Wallace 18, was part of the household. He lived beside his wife's step great-grandmother, Margaret Brosius. His residence and occupation were the same in the 1910 census.

Peter next married Georgia Cravens Thomas, daughter of George Brethod Thomas and Epha Brosius, on 28 Sep 1905 in Plattsburg, Clinton County, Missouri.2 (Georgia Cravens Thomas was born on 25 Dec 1878 in Gallatin, Daviess County, Missouri,13 died on 11 Sep 1951 in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri 13 and was buried in Saint Joseph Memorial Park, Saint Joseph, Buchanan County, Missouri 14.). The cause of her death was coronary thrombosis due to essential hypertension.9
