  General Notes:

Mrs. Alta Addington Burns passed away at the New Jefferson Hospital in Birmingham, December 31, following an operation of November 16.

She was about forty nine years of age and a member of the Rock Methodist Church in Tarrant, her home.

Mrs. Burns was raised in and near Susan Moore, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter Addington.

Funeral services were held at Lebanon, January 1, with Reverend Wallace Murphree officiating. Pallbearers were her nephews, Walter Addington, James Jones, Howard Bynum, Gordon cox, Jr., Elwyn Gibbs and Robert Bailey.

Mrs. Burns is survived by her husband, James R. Burns, a son, Maurice, and a daughter, Doris, all of East Lake Boulevard, Tarrant; three brothers, U. M. , A. B. and C. R. Addington, of Tarrant; five sisters, Mrs. C. G. Cox of Empire, Mrs. Grady bailey of Tuscaloosa, Mrs. E. V. Jones and Mrs. O. L. Bynum of Tarrant, and Mrs. E. R. Young of Birmingham.
