When Odus registered for the WWI draft on 12 Sep 1918, he was farming for his father, H. A. Stoffregen, in Oneonta, Blount County, Alabama. At the time of the 1920 census, the family lived in Hardwick, Blount County, Alabama, where his father farmed. Odus was a farm laborer. There was another brother Henry C. At the time of the 1930 census, Odus was a general farmer in Slate, St. Clair County, Alabama.
