"Mrs. Jennie L. Hendricks Clowdus was born September 4th, 1871, in the home of Wm H. and Mary J. Hendricks. She was married in November, 1892, to Robert Francis Clowdus and to them were given three daughters and three sons - one dying in infancy. She considered her children a gift from God and her highest ambition in life was to rear them to be a blessing to the world and a glory to God. A few days before her death she talked so calmly to each of her children, admonishing them to live pure Christian lives, and leaving them with the promise that she would be waiting and watching for them in Heaven. Her last days were full of intense suffering, but she manifested the patience of Job, often changing her groans into singing the sweet songs she so dearly loved. Only a few hours before she died, she sang, "O How I Love Jesus." May God comfort the lonely husband who was ever faithful as they walked through life together. During her last three months illness he seemed to never tire of doing anything for her comfort." Mrs. John F. Wilson.
